Augsburg’s Christmas Market
In spite of the cold, occasional rain, ice, and snow (shoveling), I am not hibernating yet. In fact, I am actually excited at the prospect of possibly having a white Christmas for the first time ever! Last weekend in Augsburg I got to check out their Christmas market. Every Friday and Saturday evening at 6pm you can stop by and see the Engelsspiel (Angel Play), which is this Christmas market’s main attraction. During the play, local children appear dressed as angels in the windows of the renaissance style city hall, while a small group acts out the part of musicians playing for the crowd.
